RULES
• Make sure both the team members are from the same hostel.
• Write down the name of your HOSTEL on the TOP.
• Write down your team name, member names, contact details.
• 25 questions. No negatives. Mostly based on 2016 events.
• 5 Starred questions, will be used to resolve ties.
• No Googling, no UFM.
• Quiz Master is God.
• At the end of the prelims, the top scoring team from each hostel will make it to
the finals.

• X claims to have created a world record by achieving 15 million users
in record time.
• Although X is a new entrant in the tech field, it has achieved this
growth faster than any other company, including the likes of
Facebook, WhatsApp, Skype, Google+ and Uber.

• Simayan is a Fighting-type Pokémon.
• Simayan's name is a combination of simian (a group in the primate
order) and Mayan (an ancient Mesoamerican civilization).
• It evolves into Monkezuma starting at level 43.
• Its pokedex entry states - "Simayan spend all their time sparring with
each other. Their aim is to show that they are the strongest in the
group, and thus become the next leader."
• This unpopular pokemon was excluded from the viral game app from
Niantic - Pokémon Go.
• However soon many people started petitioning online for a pokemon
derived from Simayan to be included in the game.

• Just days after India successfully test fired its first Inter Continental Ballistic
Missile (ICBM), Agni-V, another country too decided to test its military might
by planning to conduct a long-range missile test.
• According to Indian Media,the competitor's intercontinental missile has a
range of 7000 kilometres and is capable of hitting its targets upto Australia!
The missile can contain nuclear as well as traditional warheads.
• What is the name of this missile which poses a threat to several countries
including India ?

cater to women. They say that only women watch TV, but even men

of the 20th century to Kenya during the British Raj. X's father was
born in Kenya, and had established himself in Nairobi as a successful

Mumbai recently to give his mother better company and is also said
to have declined an offer to head the newly formed BRICS Bank in
Shanghai to be with his mother.

• In August 1986, a Supreme Court bench of Justices O Chinnappa
Reddy and M M Dutt had, in Bijoe Emmanuel & Ors vs State Of Kerala
& Ors, granted protection to three children of the Jehovah’s Witness
sect, who didn’t partake in a particular activity at their school. The
court held that forcing the children to perform this particular activity
violated their fundamental right to religion.
• However, some 30 years later it seems that the Supreme Court has
done a U-turn by mandating this activity to be compulsarily carried
out in a particular scenario, because the court feels "it is clear as
crystal that it is the sacred obligation of every citizen to abide by the
ideals engrafted in the Constitution".
