JAMMU, Dec 30: The State Vigilance Organization today produced charge sheet (challan) against CAPD officials and others in a misappropriation of food grains case.
The challan in case FIR No.06/2009 under Section 5(1)(c),5 (1) (d) r/w Section 5 (2) J&K PC Act. Svt. 2006 and Section 109,409,468, 471 and 120-B RPC, Police Station Vigilance Organization, Jammu, was produced in the Court of Additional District and Sessions Judge, Anti-Corruption, Udhampur, against the then Chief Supervisor CA&PD Food Store Trikuta Flour mill Udhampur, then Supervisor CA&PD Store Trikuta Flour Mill Udhampur, then Storekeeper CA&PD Store Reasi, then Storekeeper CA&PD Store Arnas, then TSO CA&PD Stores Dharmari/Arnas, then Storekeeper CA&PD Store Dharmari, then Storekeeper CA&PD Store Mahore, then Storekeeper CA&PD Store then Storekeeper CA&PD Store Chasana District Reasi, Storekeeper, Manager RC Flour Mill Udhampur/Prop. Devika Transport Company, and then Sr Assistant/Supervisor CA&PD Food store R.C Flour Mill Udhampur.
The case was registered in P/S VOJ on 04-03-2009 on the basis of a Joint Surprise Check conducted by the teams of Vigilance Organization Jammu at CA&PD Stores Udhampur, Reasi and its Tehsil stores following the allegations of abuse of official position and misappropriation of food grains viz. Wheat by the officials of CAPD Department posted in the said districts. Accordingly the instant case was registered against these mentioned public servants and private persons.
During investigation, it has been established that the accused public servants in criminal conspiracy with each other and with the private persons, had misappropriated CA&PD food grains which was meant for the distribution at different rations stores in District Reasi during the year February 2009, thus causing a huge loss to the tune of Rs 1,15,55,576/- to the State exchequer.
After completing the investigation, Government sanction in respect of in- service accused officials as well as approval against the private/retired accused persons was obtained from the competent authority and accordingly the challan was produced against them in Anti-Corruption Court Udhampur for their judicial determination.
