Plaint against cops for thrashing minor boy
Surat: City police commissioner Satish Sharma ordered registration of a police complaint in an alleged case of thrashing of a 17-year-old minor boy by cops at Limbayat police station here on Friday. The minor boy had to take treatment for his injuries at New Civil Hospital (NCH) on Thursday.
Jitendra Yadav was with his brother at a roadside eatery at Limbayat on Wednesday night.
The eatery, which is run by Yadav’s brother, was open till late night when a police team arrived and tried to nab those who were there. Yadav escaped leaving his motorcycle at the spot.
Police called Yadav at the police station on Thursday to collect his motorcycle and thrashed him. The issue came to the knowledge of the police commissioner, who ordered registration of a case in the matter. The investigation is being done by R I Patel, assistant commissioner of police, B division.
