VADODARA: Violence broke out at
Polytechnic College in
Dahod town in the early hours on Friday after counting for
gram panchayat polls got over.
The supporters of a candidate who had lost in the polls were allegedly responsible for the incident. Coming out of the counting station, they resorted to violence by
pelting stones and smashing glasses of vehicles. Policemen were also targeted by the mob.
The police dispersed the rioters by resorting to caning.
As many as 25 people were arrested in connection with the violence even as
Dahod police registered an offence against a mob of around 150 persons.
