Randhir Singh, a resident of Ratia in Fatehabad district, has accused the police of conniving with “killers” of his son Arvinder Singh whose body was found near Nathwan canal on November 5 this year.

Singh, who has written to the Prime Minister and several other authorities in this regard, said that his young son went missing on November 4 and his body was found the next day under mysterious circumstances.

He said that he had given to the police names of a couple who nursed a grouse against him and had “killed” him by poisoning, but the police had not taken any action against them so far.

Pradeep Kumar, SHO of Ratia Police Station, however, maintained that prima facie, Arvinder Singh’s death was a case of suicide.

He said the victim’s motorcycle, slippers and other belongings had been found from the same place where his body was found and there were no signs of struggle suggesting murder.

He said the victim’s viscera had been sent for forensic examination and further action would be taken after receipt of the report.
