Fish trader assaulted

A 48-year-old fish trader was assaulted reportedly by three persons near his house in Subash Nagar in Mangaluru South police station limits on Friday morning.

According to eyewitness accounts, Salim (48) was attacked just as he was starting his bike around 6 a.m. at the parking lot of Abish Homes apartment where he resides. Salim was hit on his leg. When he raised an alarm, residents of the apartment rushed out and the attackers left the place.

Salim has been admitted to a private hospital on Falnir Road.

The Mangaluru South police said the attackers seem to be persons known to Salim.He had made a complaint two months ago about some persons waylaying him and attempting to attack him. Search was on to find the accused, the police said
