THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ‘Drink pure, eat pure and breathe pure seems to be the mantra that guides  Shibi Sreedharan. His factory ‘Sreela Industries’ at Kochuveli makes a solution that removes pesticides in vegetables.

The product ‘Ozonizer’ produces ozone gas, which he claims, to be effective  in removing pesticides from vegetables and antibiotics injected in chicken.  For a demonstration, he removed indigo from a solution. The product is priced at Rs 7000.  He has also manufactured an intelligent water dispenser suitable for  hospitals and railway stations. After a coin is inserted into a slot,  water gets dispensed. The user can choose the quantity. The machine can identify the coin and availability of water.

According to Shibi, an intelligent sensor can prevent fraud. The machine can also read debit/credit cards. Shibi claims that his water purifier is better than other branded products  as membranes used for filtering are customised to the water available in the state and could last upto 6 years. The product is priced at Rs 1.5 lakh. Shibi and his brother Shimji run the company and their father Sreedharan, who retired from Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre of Indian Space Research Organisation is the brain behind the water purification systems.
