Deep Shikha, Nidhi win first prize for research

DEHRADUN: A prize distribution ceremony was organised by the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology of the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, here yesterday.

A prize distribution ceremony was organised by the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology of the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, here yesterday.

As an annual activity of the Department, second-year students were assigned short-term research projects under the guidance of faculty members Dr Sanjoy Das, Dr Devinder Atal and Dr Rattan Singh. This year, 22 scientific research projects and 21 scientific models were submitted by the students.

The ceremony was graced by Dr Vijendra Chauhan, academic advisor, SRHU; Dr Harnam Singh, head of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Muzaffarnagar; Dr SL Jethani, dean, Faculty of Medicine; and Dr PK Sachan, Medical Superintendent.

The first prize in scientific research was awarded to Deep Shikha Kataria and Nidhi Jain, while the winners of the second prize were Manasvi Kalra, Tanya Chaudhary and Vaibhavi Dhasmana. In the scientific model category, the winners were Arunima, Chahat, Chakshu, Lavnish and Samridhi. —TNS
