With 2016 in its lap, these Gujarati celebs talks about their 'silver lining' moment.
While many are gearing up for New Year's eve parties, the internet is buzzing with memes and trolls as how 2016, was a disappointment at various levels. From standing in serpentine queues outside banks and ATMs, to some shocking celeb deaths, to several terrorists attacks not just across the globe but at Indian borders also, the US election results, Brexit and others.
However, there are many celebrities for whom this year did bring in some good times, be in forms of new movie assignments, fulfilling long travel goals, spending quality time with family or simply learning some important life lessons, these celebs talks about their ‘silver lining’.
Esha Kansara
Esha Kansara: My first Gujarati movie, Duniyadaari was certainly a silver lining for me this year. Apart from that professionally I took up very limited projects and hence it wasn't a very exciting year. But on the personal front I was finally able to go for the much awaited family vacation. As I live in Mumbai and my family lives in Ahmedabad, there are very few times when we get to spend time together, so this vacay time was quite a welcome change for all of us.
Revanta Sarabhai

Revanta Sarabhai: 2016 was all about exploring the unplanned and unexplored genres for me. I wasn’t actively pursuing a career in Gujarati film industry, but one thing led to the another and now I have three back-to-back movies all set for release in the coming year. Personally, I’m happy that I was able to accomplish the fitness goals that I had set for myself.
Dhwani Gautam

Dhwani Gautam: This was a great year for me, especially professionally. Although Romance Complicated wasn’t received very well due to many reasons, Tu Toh Gayo was very well received and ran housefull shows for over six weeks. Another silver lining which certainly set the ball rolling for 2017 is my Hindi movie which will go on the floor soon. I will be finishing my remaining Gujarati movie assignments before that. I also recently recorded a single and will be soon releasing it soon.

Jayaka Yagnik

Jayaka Yagnik: Honestly, this year was a tad slow for me. However, on the professional front I got to do what I love doing the most, commercials for various
well-known brands. Especially, a well-known dental care brand worked very well for me. As for movies, I recently finished another Gujarati film which is slated for release early next year. But for me the biggest silver lining is that there are many lessons that I learnt which have helped me to become a stronger person.
Jayesh More

Jayesh More: Of course this was certainly a great year for me, more so on the work front as my play Aaj Jaane Ki Zidd Na Karo was much appreciated. My roles in Wrong Side Raju and Passport garnered compliments too. I’m currently working on some Gujarati movies and wrapped up a Hindi movie. Managing all these projects taught me the importance of time management and multitasking.
Aishwarya Majmudar

Aishwarya Majmudar: Although this wasn’t the best year, I never let anything bad affect me beyond a point. So I always remained positive and calm through various ups and downs during the year. But the silver lining came recently when at a recently held awards ceremony I received an audiences’ choice award . I am grateful for that and it has motivated me a lot to work on more interesting projects.
Mitra Gadhavi

Mitra Gadhavi: This year was really good both on professional and personal fronts, as not only did my movies work very wel,l but I went on many trips to various hill stations. While the movies opened many doors of working on interesting projects, the trips helped me work on my interpersonal skills and helped me to become more calm and attentive during every circumstance.
