An Omani alpinist has succeeded in scaling Mount Aconcagua in Argentine, which is considered to be the second highest peak in the world.
Sulaiman bin Hamoud al-Na'ebi proudly hoisted his country’s flag and displayed the picture of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, to signal that his challenge was completed.
Sulaiman began his adventure on the 7th of December and managed to scale the 6,961-meter-high peak in 12 days.
The initiative took after he represented the Sultanate of Oman in climbing the fourth highest mountain 'Kilimanjaro' in Tanzania.
Three US citizens, a Dutch woman and an Australian alpinist had also joined the Omani national in the danger-fraught journey to the peak of Mt Aconcagua but they soon gave up due the extreme temperature which dropped to-27°C.
