Income Tax raid on former VHP member

Agra: The income tax department raided the residence of former Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) member, Lalit Shah, in Hathras district on Wednesday. According to officials, the raid was conducted after the department received an anonymous complaint against Shah. The former VHP member now works as an agent at Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) and lives in Sadabad teshil of the district. The raid was carried out by 8-10 officials from Etah and Agra segment of the department.The raids started around noon on Wednesday and were still on till the time of filing of this report. According to sources, several incriminating documents had been seized and the same were being verified by authorities. Speaking to TOI, R Parmar, Hathras district president of BJP said that Shah was not connected to the party directly but was formely a VHP member.
