Aman, Amit, Jatin win roller-skating contest

Mussoorie, December 28

A roller-skating championship was held as part of the ongoing Winterline Carnival in Mussoorie here today. The competition was held under the aegis of Mussoorie Sports Association.

Aman Chauhan won the roller-skating race in the 14-16 years’ category, Amit Thapa won in the 12-14 years’ age category while Jatin Rawat won in 10-12 years’ age category. The chief guest on the occasion was Khushwinder Sarna, former international Basketball player and present coach of government school students in UP.

A puppet show by Rajasthani artistes, a street play by Indian People Theatre Association creating awareness towards voting in poll and a magic show by NC Sarkar were much appreciated by the audience.

Later at Vikas Hotel, renowned Bollywood singer Ritu Pathak mesmerised the audience with her melodious performance. State-level artistes presented several folk dances at Shaheed Sthal.

Ravinder Rauthan, former national roller skating champion; TS Rana, Winterline Carnival Sports Committee in charge; BS Negi, president, Mussoorie Sports Association; its members Roop Chand, Rafiq Ahmed and Surat Singh Rawat were present on the occasion.
