Czech air-cooled V8-powered truck manufacturer and former Czech air-cooled V8-powered car manufacturer Tatra is expanding the Koprivnice's Regional Museum to include the brand's Nazi-killing (and less famous) passenger cars. Local magazine Ekonom reports that this move can also result in a limited run of T600-inspired models featuring a modern chassis and drivetrain sourced from an established brand (in possession of a mid, -or rear engined design, presumably). Then again, the layout remains an open question at this point, just like everything else in connection with this Tatra project.

The four-cylinder T600, otherwise known as the Tatraplan, was introduced in 1948. Czech sources claim Tatra is thinking about a revival not just because of the museum relaunch, but also because in recent years, people started to pay huge amounts for the remaining originals all over the world.

Tatra is capable of custom vehicle production thanks to its military side of the business, and a future T600 could even be exported to the United States using the Low Volume Vehicle Manufacturers Act of 2015.

The factory will only make the decision next year, but one thing is for sure: If you're still waiting for the MTX V8 to happen, don't hold your breath, because retro is more in right now than wedge.
