GATE 2017: 263 applications rejected by IIT Roorkee authorities

IIT Roorkee has rejected 263 applications of GATE 2017 due to anomaly in data related to educational qualification.

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT-R) has released a list of candidates that are ineligible to appear for the GATE exam 2017 in the month of February. The list has been released on the official website of IIT Roorkee. Candidates who did not provide valid details in the form regarding educational qualification are disqualified to appear for the exam. The list of rejected candidates can be checked on the official website. As per the official notification of GATE 2017, the eligibility criteria for candidates is that the candidates must either be in final year of bachelors (or equivalent degree) in engineering, or architecture or a Master’s degree in computer applications, science, etc.

GATE 2017 is scheduled to be conducted branch wise in the month of February 2017, on February 4th, 5th, 11th, and 12th. In the year 2016, approximately 8 lakh candidates appeared for the GATE exam. GATE is the entrance test for candidates willing to seek admission into premier engineering institutes for post-graduate courses. The scores obtained in GATE are also used by many Public Service Undertakings (PSUs). PSU’s select graduate engineers for various entry level jobs.
