RAJKOT: A 28-year-old constable serving at
Talaja police station was run over by a speeding vehicle, 5km from the town, early on Sunday morning.
At around 5am, constable
Vijaysinh Gohil was returning home after completing his night duty. An unidentified vehicle hit his motorcycle from behind on Talaja-Palitana Road. His body was found later with the face badly crushed, police said.
Gohil was living in Rajpara village near Talaja.
Talaja police have booked the driver of an unidentified vehicle for the accident after Gohil’s father
Balwantsinh lodged a complaint.
Gohil had joined police service around four-and-a-half years ago. Earlier, he had worked in Ahmedabad too. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
