2 killed in suspected gang war in Ganaur

CHANDIGARH: Two persons were killed during a suspected gang war in Ganaur town of Sonipat district on Friday evening. The deceased were identified as Pardeep Kumar of Julana in Jind and cable operator Pawan Tyagi. Police have taken into possession Pawan’s SUV and licenced weapon, and the car used by Pardeep and three of his friends.
According to information, the incident occurred when Pardeep and his three accomplices called Pawan on his mobile phone and asked him to come out of his office.
As soon as he came out along with his associates, Pardeep’s gang opened fire to which Pawan’s gang retaliated triggering panic in the area.
According to sources, the firing went on for 10 minutes and it ended when both fell on the ground. While Pawan suffered four bullet injuries and was declared brought dead in a Sonipat hospital, Pardeep died on the spot after being hit by one bullet.
Police have started the investigation after registering a case of murder and under the Arms Act against Pardeep and three other men. “We have taken the car used by Pardeep and gang into possession and based on the information, we are on the lookout for owner of the car. It will lead to identification of the three accused. The bodies of Pawan and Pardeep have been handed over to their families. This incident is an outcome of a gang war between two groups,” said Ganaur deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Om Parkash Bhishnoi.
Bullets recovered from the bodies of the deceased had been sent for forensic examinations to ascertain the make of weapons, added DSP Bishnoi.
