Veteran sandalwood actor Chetan Ramarao breathed his last on Friday (December 23).

Veteran Kannada actor Chetan Ramarao, who was admitted at private hospital in Mysore, breathed his last on Friday (December 23). He was 76. Chetan Ramarao was admitted due to prolonged illness.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid homage to the veteran at his residence in Mysore today.

In a career spanning over five decades, Chetan Rama Rao has acted in over 350 films with superstars like Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhan and Ambareesh.

Chetan Rama Rao made his debut at the age of 19 with the film Kala Vilasi Sangha. His notable works include Post master, Nanu Neenu Jodi, Anuradha, Kallu Sakkare and Bedi Bandavalu. Chetan has acted in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu languages.

He is survived by his wife and three daughters.
