Ajay Devgn to play a blind man in Malayalam hit Oppam's remake?

After proving himself to be a competent director in Shivaay (and for which he won the 'pathbreaking direction' award at Sansui Stardust 2016), Ajay Devgn is now focussed more on his acting assignments. He will be next seen in Badshaho, co-starring Emraan Hashmi and Ileana D'Cruz. The movie will be directed by Milan Luthria, who has given some solid thrillers with Ajay Devgn like Kachche Dhaage and Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai. Now according to a report in DNA, the actor could also be looking up at getting in Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's shoes once again for a Bollywood remake of a 2016 Malayalam blockbuster. Priyadarshan, who has directed this year's big hit Oppam, is looking to cast Ajay Devgn in the role of blind lift operator who gets trapped in a murder case, while the real killer is looking to snuff him out. As per a source who spoke to the paper, “The last time both had worked together was in Aakrosh (2010) and Tezz (2012). Priyan had Akshay in mind for the role, but the actor is busy till 2018. He narrated the role to Ajay who has liked the script. He will play the protagonist and the role of a blind lift operator (played by Mohanlal in the Malayalam film). Oppam had made more than Rs 50 crores at the BO. If Ajay Devgn does say yes, he will following into the footsteps of Hrithik Roshan who is also playing a blind man seeking revenge in the romantic thriller Kaabil, that is scheduled to release next month. However, an interesting thing to note here is that both the movies where Ajay Devgn and Priyadarshan had collaborated were duds at the box office (Tezz also starred Mohanlal in a small role).
