BJP behind probe agency action: Govt

Chief Minister’s spokesperson Rajesh Rastogi today said the CBI had issued the summons at the behest of the BJP just to divert the attention of the people.

At a press conference at his camp office in Kankhal, Rastogi said instead of answering Rahul Gandhi’s questions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was making his fun, which was also a ploy.

“Modi is free to make fun of Rahul Gandhi, but he also needs to answer the queries related to corruption put forth by the Congress vice-president. The Prime Minister should tell us whether the entries found in the Sahara and Birla companies’ records were true. We want to know if money was given to him when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat,” said Rastogi, who is also the state coordinator of the Sewa Dal.

Demanding an inquiry into the case, he said the Income Tax Department had the records for the past two years, but no action was taken. “It’s clear that the BJP is deliberately pressurising the I-T, Enforcement and Vigilance Departments,” he said.

The Congress would come to power as the Chief Minister has undertaken a number of development works in the past four years, Rastogi added.

“The CBI should also question those who carried out the sting operation ,” he demanded.
