State’s first Digi Dhan fair held in Narnaul

NARNAUL: As many as 92 visitors made cashless transactions through micro ATMs during the state’s first Digi Dhan fair organised here today in order to motivate people to use plastic money for purchasing.

As many as 92 visitors made cashless transactions through micro ATMs during the state’s first Digi Dhan fair organised here today in order to motivate people to use plastic money for purchasing.

“Over 2,000 persons were trained on how to download, install and use various digital payment systems, while 93 visitors got their bank accounts seeded with their Aadhaar cards while 25 got the mobile banking App installed on their phones and conducted banking transactions through the application,” said Rajesh Jogpal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Mahendragarh.

He said 112 new saving and current accounts were opened while over 250 e-wallets of different banks were downloaded on the occasion. The e-wallets were operational at the fair attended by significant numbers of traders, small shopkeepers and social activists throughout the day.

“The real time digital transactions through e-wallets like SBI Buddy, PNB Kitty and Paytm were conducted in the fair wherein the visitors enjoyed hot tea served by Sheru who charged Rs 7 for the cashless transactions and Rs 10 for cash transactions,” said Jogpal.

The ADC said a team of master trainers explained various options available for digital payments and assisted visitors in downloading and installing various mobile Apps for digital payments and helped them do digital transaction. Various banks and mobile phone companies educated visitors and demonstrated digital cashless transactions.
