On Dec. 20, a premature infant girl in Moyu County, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region was saved by a "love relay" covering 1,420 kilometers, according to the Global Times.
The infant, suffering from schistocelia, needed to be transferred to Urumqi for treatment immediately after her birth. Soon, many kind-hearted people and organizations mobilized to help facilitate the transfer, including the vice director of Urumqi Children’s Hospital and Yutu Charitable Foundation. Local traffic police arranged a designated channel for the baby's ambulance, which soon went viral on social media.
Thanks to this special relay and a subsequent surgery, the infant's life was saved.
