KANPUR: A teenage boy and a middle-aged woman, who were locked in a tube-well room in a Kannauj village on Tuesday for eloping together, were on Wednesday found murdered with injury marks all over the bodies.
While both the families have lodged FIRs against each other in this connection, the police suspect it to be a case of honour killing and were on the lookout for the woman's husband, who is absconding.

Police said the 16-year-old boy and his alleged paramour, a 40-year-old mother of three children, had eloped together about 10 days ago, but returned on Monday following police intervention. The family members of the woman, including her husband Zakir, who is the prime suspect in the case, are absconding. A case of murder has been registered against Zakir and Esha, Khilaua and one Iqbal at the Sadar Kotwali police station of Kannauj.
Police said Gukhru villagers saw the bodies lying in a tube-well room on Wednesday morning where the duo was locked allegedly by the boy's family-members on Monday.
