ISLAMABAD: A contract killer, after being released from Adiala Jail on parole, has started to occupy costly land in the capital with the help of land grabbing mafia. According to FIR No 275 registered at Police Station Lohibhar, accused known as ‘Zaheer Phepra’, along with his dozens of colleagues started occupying a piece land on December 16. Police was informed which arrested the armed persons of his gang while he managed to escape. “As many as 17 armed persons were taken into custody and sent to jail on judicial remand,” the police claimed. Zaheer Phepra was imprisoned in Adiala Jail in a murder case and got released on intervention by some influential people. He recently tried to occupy a land of Raja Arshad worth billions of rupees located in Sawan Garden, an area that falls in the jurisdiction of Police Station Lohibhar. Police sources said that four people out of which a total number of arrested were the close allies of the terminated President of Civilian Employees Cooperative Housing Society, Ansar Gondal. The accused, in their confessional statement, told the Inquiry Officer that Ansar Gondal had sent them to get possession of the land. “Online”, on contacting the Moharar of Police Station Lohibhar, was told that “We had arrested the accused including Chaudhry Jameel Gujjar, Chaudhry Jameel Rehan, Abid, Salman, Danish, Adnan, Ali Zaman, Shakil, Saifullah, Muhammad Bilal, Majid-ullah, Zafarullah, Hafeezullah, Farooq and Yasir and sent them to jail on judicial remand. He expressed the hope that the police would succeed to identify the facilitator of this land grabbing gang and it is also being investigated as on what basis the accused “Zaheer Phepra” had been released from the jail on parole.
