ALLAHABAD: Former Governor of Gujarat and Rajasthan Justice (retd) Anshuman Singh said that judiciary is sensitive to social concerns as it is the only hope for people in the present time. He was addressing a seminar on ‘judiciary and social justice’ organised at Brijmohan Vyas auditorium of Allahabad Museum.
“People rely on judiciary more than they do in executive and legislative, so it is the responsibility of the legal luminaries to ensure that the trust is maintained at all cost,” he said.
“Given the responsibility entrusted by the country on judiciary, it should be accountable to the verdict it passes and action it initiates. People's faith and conviction should be maintained,” added Justice Singh at a function organised in the memory of former Justice Bharthari Prasad.
Judicial member of Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) Jasmeen Ahmad said, “Judiciary is working well and emphasis should be on justice rather than decisions or judgment.”
