Soundararaja bags Samuthirakani's movie

Besides actor Vikranth, Kani has roped in Soundararaja, who hit limelight post Sundarapandian, for a crucial role.

After the success of Appa, award-winning actor-filmmaker, Samuthirakani, has moved on to his next directorial venture, titled Thondan. He is also bankrolling the project. Besides actor Vikranth, Kani has roped in Soundararaja, who hit limelight post Sundarapandian, for a crucial role.

“I was thrilled when Kani sir offered me a role in Thondan. Without asking what it was about, I just gave my nod, as I am a great fan of his movies. It was a dream come true for me. All I know is that it is a significant role and I essay a character with grey shades,” quips Soundararaja, adding, “Even a small character will stand out in Kani sir’s film, he writes such strong characters.”

Soundar, who shared screen space with veteran Goundamani, in his earlier film Enakku Veru Engum Kilaigal Kidayadhu reveals that even today, they are in touch with each other. “Although the film was released a few months back, Goundamani sir is in touch with me. He calls after 10 pm and asks about the happenings in my life, and discusses a lot of things including Nadigar Sangam. He is abreast of all activities in the film industry, including box-office hits and misses. I was amazed with his memory power!”

Soundar is currently busy with films like Oru Kanavu Pola, where he plays the lead; Kaththi Sandai, which hits the marquee this Friday; Mudi Sooda Mannan, and Kallan, besides Thondan.
