Twitter trolls Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan on the name of their baby boy Taimur Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor named their son Taimur Ali Khan, but Twitter isn't amused.

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan became proud parents to a baby boy named Taimur Ali Khan on December 20, 2016.  The diva of Bollywood gave birth to her first baby on Tuesday at Breach Candy Hospital at 7.30 am. The couple have been flooded with congratulatory messages on Twitter. Karan Johar was the first one to break the news of the new born. He tweeted with good news,”My Bebo had a baby boy!!!!!!! Am so so happy!!!!!!! #TaimurAliKhan”. He also disclosed the name of the baby – Taimur Ali Khan. The name of the newest member of the Pataudi family has generated a lot of buzz on social media. People have been searching Google for the meaning of the baby’s name. The name has an Arabic origin and means ‘Iron’ or an incredibly strong substance.

The name also has some history behind it. Timur or Taimur was a Turco-Mongol conqueror and the founder of the Timurid Empire in Persia and Central Asia. He was a great warrior and was considered to be the last of the great nomadic conquerors of the Eurasian Steppe. However, this did not deter the Twitteratis from trolling the couple. Like the backlash that Kim Kardashian received on naming her daughter North West or Beyonce did when she named her child Blue Ivy, similarly Saif and Kareena have been trolled on Twitter for their choice of name. Some people felt that the baby’s name is a tad too long while others trolled and likened him to a barbaric ruler. “#SaifAliKhan and #KareenaKapoorKhan names baby Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi. Too big a name for a day old baby and 140 character tweet,” one person wrote. Another person added, “Somewhere between saying his full name Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi grew up!” While some have requested others to not troll him as his parents have done that for him. Whatever be the case the fact that you start trending within a minute of your birth is quite a feat. We hope that his glamorous parents do an awesome job of raising him.
