Mohan Bhagwat to visit Vansada on December 31

Rashtriya Swayam Sevak (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will participate in a mass religious gathering at Gangpur village of Vansada taluka in Navsari on December 31. The event is being organised by Bharat Sevashram Sangh (BSS) that has presence in various parts of country.

SURAT: Rashtriya Swayam Sevak (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will participate in a mass religious gathering at Gangpur village of Vansada taluka in Navsari on December 31. The event is being organised by Bharat Sevashram Sangh (BSS) that has presence in various parts of country.
The organisers are claiming that over 50,000 tribals from different districts of south Gujarat will participate in the event.
Vansada borders Dang district that has history of disturbance over religious conversion and other issues.
Before visiting south Gujarat the RSS chief is to visit other parts of state with tribal population.
“We are celebrating 100 years of BSS at our ashram in Gangpur and for the event we sent invite to Bhagwatji. He accepted it and agreed to remain present as chief guest. We are expecting a huge turnout of tribal population at the event,” said Swami Ambrishanandji of BSS.
“BSS was founded around 100 years ago by Swami Pranavanandji Maharaj in a village currently in Bangladesh. We are celebrating here as part of nationwide celebration,” added Ambrishanandji.
Along with tribals, a number of RSS workers from across state are likely to participate in the event.
Dang had witnessed communal riot in 1998 that had attracted attention of nation and many top national political leaders visited to assess the situation. Meanwhile, Asimanand, key accused in Samjauta Express Blast, had spent over 10 years in Dang since and developed Shabridham, a place of that has importance in Ramayan, at Subir village. RSS organised Shabrikumbh in 2006 where top leaders of saffron fold participated.
