Apple iPhone 8 Pro Unnamed Flagship: Alleged Specs And Features; Compatible With The Occipital Bridge AR/VR Headset?

There are already reports that Apple will launch 3 iPhones for 2017. However, out of the 3 iPhones, only 2 iPhone names are confirmed; iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the unnamed flagship the people have dubbed as the iPhone 8 Pro.

Tech enthusiasts are calling the unnamed flagship as "iPhone 8 Pro" which will feature the best of the best of what Apple has to offer for its iPhone series of 2017. Though the said device has no name, there are already a number of reports suggesting what specs and features will the iPhone 8 Pro have. Here are the reported specs and features:

Price

Many are comparing the price of the 2017 iPhones to the Samsung Galaxy S8 which is expected to be roughly around $810. Given that the iPhone 8 Pro will be the flagship or premium model and the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus aren't. It is expected that the iPhone 8 Pro will have a retail price roughly around $1000.

Design

The iPhone 8 Pro will have an all-glass design. Meaning its back and front will be featuring a glass design. For its edges, it is reported that it won't feature aluminum frames. But instead, it will feature stainless steel frames which can be seen on the Apple watches.

Another rumored body design spec is that the 2017 iPhone's home button will be almost non-existent. Meaning, instead of the home button that we can actually see and touch in the previous iPhone models, the home button in the iPhone 8 Pro will be built right into the display screen which will also include a fingerprint reader. It will be something like a software-based home button dedicated to the screen display.

Display Screen

It is reported that the only the iPhone 8 Pro will have a Quad-HD OLED screen display of 2560 x 1440 pixels, while the other two iPhone 8 models will have LCD screen displays. About the software-based home button on its display, all iPhone models will have it. As to why only the iPhone 8 will have OLED screen displays, it is because Samsung, Sharp, and LG are all battling to produce the next generation of OLED display phones, making the access for OLED displays limited.

Processor

The iPhone 8 Pro is expected to run on the latest iOS available today or even higher if possible. With its chipset, the iPhone 8 Pro is expected to be powered by an A11 chip which is expected to be 40 percent smaller compared to the A10 chip, 30-40 percent better in performance and 40 percent less power consumption. Finally, for its RAM storage, it is expected that the iPhone 8 will feature 4 GB of RAM.

Camera Specs

The iPhone 8 Pro will have the same rear camera featured in the iPhone 7 Plus but upgraded. Meaning, it will have optical image stabilization on its dual-lens rear camera. And with the optical image stabilization, both lens will also have great performance even in low-light conditions.

Features

The iPhone 8 Pro will have a wireless charging feature. According to reports, users will be able to charge the iPhone 8 Pro at a distance of 5 meters from the charging pad or unit. About how fast the charging speed will be, it is said to be quite slow and is still in the development stage. Hopefully, Apple will be on time to complete the wireless charging feature and up its charging speed.

Bridge Headset

There is a new headset in the tech market scene right now. According to sources, the Bridge headset was made for iPhones, specifically the iPhone 6, 6s and 7, but it is also compatible with iPads. Given that virtual reality is the new hot platform gen right now, it is highly possible that the iPhone 8 series, especially the iPhone 8 Pro model will be compatible with the Bridge headset.

One thing that makes the Bridge headset unique and worth buying is that it features mixed reality. Meaning, it combines reality and virtual reality. About the full specs and features of this device, only little is known, because it is still currently on developing stages. But it will surely be released soon, probably around when the iPhone 8 models will be released. The price of this headset is $399.
