MUMBAI: A bodyguard employed by film producer Firoz A Nadiadwala's family went into hiding after allegedly assaulting a traffic constable who told him not to block traffic movement on Juhu Tara Road late on Thursday.
The matter was triggered when constable Balu Patil (41) went looking for the reason for a traffic snarl-up. Till late on Friday , the Juhu police were searching for the accused, Noorbhai Khan (30), who did not report to work after committing the offence.

Khan also damaged the constable's cellphone and his e-challan machine after snatching it from him. Patil, attached with the Santacruz traffic division, was directing traffic near Besant Montessori School when a jam occurred. In his complaint, Patil said, “ A man had stopped traffic to make way for his employer's car. I rushed to the spot and warned him against doing so.“
Instead of obeying, Khan abused the cop. “Then he blew punches and kicked me,“ Patil said in his complaint.
Nadiadwala's wife had gone to attend an event at a Juhu school. Juhu police senior inspector Sunil Ghosalkar said Khan has been booked under the Indian Penal Code's section 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and other laws.TOI's calls and texts to Nadiadwala were unanswered.
