Left and Congress MPs write to PM

 Opposition MPs on Friday demanded restoration of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) licences to NGOs run by Teesta Seetalvad and others.

The joint letter to the Prime Minister signed by Sitaram Yechury and P Karunakaran (CPM), D Raja (CPI), Ahmed Patel and Renuka Chaudhury (Congress) and others condemned the action against “NGOs critical of its policies”. It is a decision “motivated by the politics of vendetta, victimisation and an effort to bully them to silence,” it says.
