History-sheeters out on bail loot mobile shop

Two of the five-member gang of robbers were arrested on Wednesday for carrying out loot of two mobile phones and Rs 40,000 in cash from A K Road on Tuesday night. Three others of the gang escaped. Police investigation revealed that one of the arrested accused, in jail on murder charges, was out on interim bail.

SURAT: Two of the five-member gang of robbers were arrested on Wednesday for carrying out loot of two mobile phones and Rs 40,000 in cash from A K Road on Tuesday night. Three others of the gang escaped. Police investigation revealed that one of the arrested accused, in jail on murder charges, was out on interim bail.
Police arrested Mehul alias Mahesh Rambhai Bhatti, 24, resident of Varachha and Nikunj Vithhal Vala, 21, resident of Kapodara, from near Margha Kendra in Kapodara while they were on a motorcycle.
The accused carried out a loot with other three at Patel Nagar Shopping Centre on A K Road of Varachha on Tuesday night at 11.30 pm.
They looted bag with cash Rs 40,000 and two mobile phones from Jignesh Shah, a mobile shop owner, when the victim was closing his shop. They escaped from the location on a motorcycle and a scooter. The accused also looted a mobile phone wroth Rs 9,000 from Prem Chaudhary on road at a nearby location. Shah suffered stabbing injury on hand while resisting to save his bag. Police investigation revealed that Bhatti was involved in a murder and attempt to murder in 2013 and was arrested for the crime.
