Reba McEntire is reportedly set to star in a new ABC soap opera, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The country singer, who had her own former TV show Reba, has plans to act on the as yet untitled show, which has been described as a Southern Gothic. Marc Cherry, who is known for creating Desperate Housewives, also is the mastermind behind this new show.
The show starts off after a suspected terrorist attack occurs during a Fourth of July parade in Oxblood, Kentucky. After the event the FBI sends an arrogant agent of Middle Eastern descent in to investigate the scene. Working alongside the local sheriff, they both discover some dark secrets.
McEntire last starred in the multicamera comedy Malibu Country, which also ran on ABC.
