The Institution of Engineers (IIE) - Qatar Chapter in association with Al Majed Technologies (AMT), recently organised a technical seminar on 'Latest trends and practices in fire & safety technologies' at Hotel Radisson Blu.
IIE Secretary Er Dipak Dahake spoke about the Qatar Chapter's professional services to the engineering community in Qatar. Er Vineet Nambiar talked about the role and services of Al Majed Technologies as a partner of Siemens in building technologies in Qatar. Chairman Er Aniruddha Kulkarni welcomed the speakers who were from Siemens-Dubai.
Siemens Building Technologies Qatar Senior Executive Vice President Stefan Herget introduced Siemens capabilities in building technologies, and Malav Bhatt, Fire Safety Head, Siemens LLC- UAE, delivered an in-depth presentation on the latest technology in fire detection and fire suppression systems.
He stressed on the numerous challenges faced by designers and engineers with respect to fire and safety of buildings in this fast-growing economy and rapid modernisation. He also explained about the best-in-class technological solutions to prevent and fight hazardous situations. Over 250 practising engineers from various contracting and consulting organisations benefitted from the seminar.
Excom members Er Abdul Sathar, compered the event and Er Sanjay Jain, proposed the vote of thanks. IEI-QC is offering free annual membership to graduate engineers for 2016-17 and are inviting engineers of all nationalities to join this professional body.
