Three held for sex test in Jhunjhunu

JAIPUR: State Pre-Conception Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique (PCPNDT) cell, on Monday, carried out two decoy operations in Jhunjhunu and arrested three people.
“Information was received that sex determination test is being carried out. We dispatch a team to the house of Dr Shravan Jat in Jhunjhunu and trapped him for carrying out sex test against Rs 20,000. We have seized the machine and arrested the doctor,” an official said.
In another operation in the same district, officials laid a trap at Rajasthani Sonography and Diagnostic center and arrested an agent, Dala Kuldeep, along with Navita Kumari for facilitating the sex determination test at a rate of Rs 30,000.
PCPNDT officials seized the sonography chamber of the center and took other relevant documents for further investigation.
“This is major breakthrough as both the accused had been conducting sex determination test with the help of agents and other middlemen. There was a separate commission fixed for them too,” an official added.
The officers said that the accused will be questioned about their roles in other such cases.
“A case will be registered against the trio under relevant sections of IPC,” an official said. The PCPNDT cell has carried out total 50 such decoy operations so far.
