CHAMARAJANAGAR: A man and his son were burnt alive after a live wire fell on their thatched house in Chamarajanagar district here on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Venkataramana (68) and Venkatesh (40), residents of Dhanagere Village, Kollegal taluk.
The moment the wire fell on the roof at 3.30am, the house was up in flames as the roof was covered with dry grass. Venkataramana was burnt alive before he could realise what had happened.
Hearing the screams of his father, Venkatesh rushed to rescue his father was also electrocuted.
His wife Sundramma some how has managed to run out of the house.
Neighbours rushed to the spot hearing wails of the family and dragged out Venkatesh. He was charred beyond recognition.
