    Synopsis

Selena Gomez recently made a comeback on social media after a year-long hiatus. Here are more celebs who did the same like her.

    Anurag Kashyap
Miffed at the selection committee for not choosing his movie, The Lunchbox as India’s entry for the Oscars in 2013, Anurag Kashyap deleted his Twitter account with a scathing message. “I don’t know who the federation is but it goes to show, why we completely lack the understanding to make films that can travel across borders,” the director tweeted. Soon after, he followed it with this tweet, announcing his exit from the Twitterverse—“Bye bye twitter. Enough feeding the wannabe journals..” The director, however was back within months.

    Miley Cyrus
Despite being insanely active on Twitter, the singer randomly announced in October 2009 that she was leaving the site, tweeting, “FYI Liam doesn’t have a twttr & he wants ME 2 delete mine w/gd reason.” The singer’s two million followers were, of course, bummed. However, the former Disney star returned to tweeting two years later and by that time Liam Hemsworth also seemed to have made his peace with the social media site, with a handle of his own.

    Demi Lovato
The Heart Attack singer gave her fans one when she abruptly went off all social media sites in June. Lovato apparently decided to take a break as she was sick of getting hate over her outspoken opinions. Before going offline, she posted- “Damn I gotta quit sayin s**t Bye” However, the break didn’t last long, Lovato was back again within a day, explaining that she loved her ‘Lovatics’ too much to leave them hanging.

    Sushant Singh Rajput
In May this year, the TV-actor- turned-movie-star deleted his Twitter account unannounced, which many thought was his way of dealing with his breakup with long-time girlfriend Ankita Lokhande. While Rajput never spoke about his absence on Twitter, he quietly made a comeback, in time to promote his latest movie.

    Zayn Malik
Fed up with all the hate he was receiving on Twitter, the former One Direction singer left the site in August 2012. “The reason I don’t tweet as much as I used to, is because I’m sick of all the useless opinions and hate that I get daily... goodbye twitter,” he wrote. Malik returned to Twitter soon after, but maybe this should have been a sign that he could easily quit something else.... like One Direction, which he left a few years later?.
