MYSURU: Veera Kannadigara Makkala Balaga chairman SC Rajesha said he has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding a CBI probe into the corruption charges against Public works minister H C Mahadevappa.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Rajesha said no action has so far been initiated against Mahadevappa, officers Chikkarayappa, special officer Janardhan, secretary to PWD Siddagangappa, and internal finance adviser Chandrashekaraiah to Lokayukta, though documents are available to prove the charges against them.

“Now the government claims that Anti-Corruption Bureau is probing the case. As I-T sleuths recently seized a large amount of illegal cash and documents pertaining to acquisition of illegal properties, from the houses of Chikkarayappa and S C Jayachandra, who are close to Mahadevappa, the case should be transferred from ACB to CBI,” he said.
“ACB is under the control of the state government and we doubt if the probe will be conducted in a fair manner. Hence we seek CBI probe. If the case is not handed over to CBI, then we will hold dharna at Jantar Mantar in coming days,” Rajesha said.
PWD class 1 contractor RB Basavegowda, who had lodged the complaint with Lokayukta against minister H C Mahadevappa, said that supporters of minister Mahadevappa are threatening him over phone and posting derogatory comments on social media. “I live in Maddur taluk and my family is under threat. I request the government to provide security to me and my family,” he said.
