Chhattisgarh government asks hospitals to go for digital payment

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh government has directed the health department to ensure facility of cashless payment in all government district hospitals, civil hospitals, medical colleges, Ayush hospitals and private hospitals operational across the state.
A directive in this regard was issued by health, family welfare and medical education department and a circular has been sent to the director of health services, directors of medical education and Ayush department.

Officials have been directed to ensure that patient are not devoid of treatment facility in absence of cash.
The circular stated that as per the policy related decision of government at the Centre, cashless mode of transaction will be opted through modern techniques like Point of Sale (POS) device, swipe machine, RuPay card, Paytm, debit as well as credit card.
Besides, officials have been instructed to ensure installation of these devices in cash counters of hospitals within a week so that patients and their relatives could avail the benefit.
Officials have been asked to depute eligible persons at cash counter of hospitals so that patients and their relatives could be provided assistance regarding payment through cashless mode.
Officials concerned have been directed to submit a report in this regard till December 24.
