AHMEDABAD: Crime branch officials nabbed five persons of a gang involved in robbing Madina Khan, a Uzbekistan national, of Rs 30,000 and her cellphone about a week ago.
Inspector of the crime branch, S L Chaudhary, said Pankaj Patel, Raj Shaikh, Ravindra Patel, Pratik Goswami and Ramesh Prajapati have been arrested. He said five cellphones and Rs 9,900 in cash have been recovered from them.
Crime branch officials said during interrogation of the accused it has come to light that according to a plan hatched by their friend Gulab Behra of Raghav Residency, Pankaj had taken Khan as a passenger from Naroda to the airport.

“Pankaj, who was driving the auto, stopped near Ranasan Patiya. The other four accused came on a bike and robbed Khan and forced her out of the auto,” Chaudhary said.
