SINGAPORE - To celebrate Christmas and the December school holidays, some 50 families embarked on a two day, one night camp on Saturday (Dec 10) at the People's Association Holiday Campsite in Pasir Ris.

Jointly organised by the Family Life Champions (FLCs) from Pasir Ris West, Sengkang Central, Punggol Coast, Punggol North and Punggol East Divisions, this inaugural family camp aims to promote intergenerational family bonding and to encourage families to spend quality time together.

Activities include family tent decorations, rocket making as well as a campfire with songs.

Mr Colin Teh, who attended the camp with his wife and five-year-old twin daughters, said: "This is a very interesting way to celebrate Christmas with a campfire. I attended campfire when I was young and I'm happy to relive this moment with my children."

Organising chair Kelvin Lai said: "This is the first time we are organising an overnight camp, bringing our residents together to celebrate this holiday season.

"Through this event, we hope to encourage and empower family members to build stronger bonds and spend quality time together through play activities and connect them with other families in the neighbourhood."
