ANKARA: Turkish jets killed at least four Islamic State terrorists Saturday in northern Syria as part of Operation Euphrates Shield, the Turkish military announced.

In air attacks targeting IS-held buildings in northern Syria, Turkish jets hit 39 targets, the Turkish Armed Forces said in a statement.

This latest counterterrorism operation came as part of Turkey's ongoing Operation Euphrates Shield which was launched in late August to rid the northern Syrian border area of terrorists.

Under the operation, which has reached its 109th day, more than 1,800 square kilometers (694 square miles) of land in northern Syria have been cleared of IS terrorists.
