Woman thrown through gate in KZN crash

Durban - A woman was run over and thrown through a gate in Claremont, Durban by a driver rushing an injured friend to hospital, paramedics in KwaZulu-Natal said on Saturday.

Initial information is that the driver that hit her was rushing a stabbed friend to hospital and lost control of the vehicle, according to ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing Harduth.

A woman in the driver's path was hit as the driver crashed into a gate at a property.

"The woman landed in the yard of the property."

Paramedics tried to resuscitate her, but she died on the scene.

The stabbed patient was apparently take to hospital privately after the crash.

Authorities were on the scene to investigate further.
