CdM trio honored in league

Corona del Mar High junior Ashley Humphreys, sophomore Kendall Kipp and senior Brooke Cuthbertson earned first-team All-Pacific Coast League accolades for leading the girls’ volleyball team to its 11th straight outright league championship.

The trio contributed to CdM (19-11, 9-1 in league) reaching the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs. The Sea Kings lost at top-seeded Santa Margarita in three sets.

Humphreys, who played opposite and setter, totaled 252 kills, 553 assists, 178 digs and 35 service aces.

Kipp, a middle blocker, outside hitter and opposite, finished with 235 kills, 26 blocks and 33 aces.

Cuthbertson, an outside hitter, had 71 kills, 123 digs and 22 aces.

CdM’s second-team members included Alexa Bonanno, a setter and opposite, junior outside hitter Christina Davenport, and senior libero Joanne Won.

Woodbridge senior outside hitter Mima Mirkovic was the league MVP.
