After simple..., Praveen’s career spirals

For the actor who made his debut with Simplag Inondu Love Story, there is no dearth of sensible scripts

Having made a conscious transition from television to the silver screen, actor Praveen has been on his toes after his debut in Suni’s Simplag Inondu Love Story. Going by the number of films in his kitty, it seems obvious that he loves the labour in filmdom and irrespective of success or fame, gods surely have called on him.

With two films -- 5 Generation and BMW wrapped up, the actor is now in the process of completing a horror project titled Shivagami while he has signed two more projects.
Although on his own admission of being a shy guy trying hard to make a splash through timely public relation strategies, which he believes is one of the most integral part of succeeding in the film industry, the actor has understood the mechanisms that work for an actor through his peregrinations of 10 years on screen, big and small.

“I realised that only looks and hard word cannot help a hero, he also has to undertake efforts towards exposure at the right place, the right time and to the right people. After Simple..., I got a lot of offers with good remunerations, but I did not pick them up. I realised that it was better to pick a handful of good projects and keep the momentum going instead of doing too many bad films and making an early exit. Right now I am expecting only sensible subjects,” he says.
And going by his upcoming films, Praveen seems to have reasonably achieved his goal.
BMW is inspired by a Gujarati film, Chhello Divas, which ran successfully and made good business of above Rs 40 crore. “When I watched the film, I knew it will be bring in the same success in Kannada too. I have similar feelings with 5G and Shivagami too. The latter is a horror flick and I am sharing screen space with actors like Ramya Krishna, who plays Rani Shivagami and Sharath Kumar,” he says.
According to him, his fifth film, Krishna Vamshi will go on floors from December 21 and is inspired by a thriller Tamil film, Thegdi. “I will be associating with debutant director Sunil. I am also be joining hands with Chocka Bara director Raghu Shivamogga, for an interesting subject,” says Praveen.
