AMRITSAR: After addressing a political rally at Tangra on Friday, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal spent his evening in discussing the party’s ‘Majitha master plan’. On November 14, the AAP chief is going to address a rally in Majitha – the bastion of cabinet minister Bikram Majithia.
Sources involved in preparing the battle plan for the constituency told TOI that after Kejriwal’s rally, detailed presentation about the assembly segment was made before the party supremo.
“Our plan includes minute details of booth-wise reports, feedback from every single volunteer, voters feeling and their aspirations, details of police cases slapped on people, and potential candidates,” said a party leader.
During the half-an-hour-long presentation, Kejriwal gave his suggestions to improve the same and suggested to concentrate on Majitha just as they had prepared master plan in Delhi against the Congress CM Shiela Dixit’s government, party sources said.
The party is said to be looking for a vocal face, preferably having a law background so as to be able to take on any challenges, including legal, a party leader said, adding that a local Congress leader was also in touch with AAP but given the high stakes, the party was considering a senior face from AAP itself to be fielded from Majitha.
“Details of all the shortlisted probables, including their background, financial position, qualification and political experience, was given to Kejriwal, who will take final call on the name of candidate and announce the same on December 14 during the Majitha rally,” said sources.
At the same time, there was some resentment among local volunteers for being kept away from Kejriwal’s significant meeting. One of the volunteer who is attached with AAP since his inception told TOI on condition of anonymity, “We did all the ground work. We conducted surveys and prepared ground reports from Majitha constituency but Delhi observers just took the details from us and hijacked the meeting.”
“One of our delegation is ready to meet Kejriwal before Majitha rally and apprise him of the ground realities,” he said.
