The Cultural Village Foundation - Katara, in cooperation with the embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Doha, hosted a concert on Thursday, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence Day.
Renowned artistes from the Camerata of Kazakhstan performed pieces by modern Kazakh composers.
General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation - Katara Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al Sulaiti, Minister of Justice HE Dr Hasan Bin Lahdan al Mohannadi, Chief of Protocol at Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador HE Ibrahim Yousif Fakhroo and several ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions to Doha were present to relish the performance by the 20-member team of artistes.
A large number of music fans, including the Kazakh nationals working in Qatar, who showed up in colourful and embroidered national costumes, also enjoyed the concert.
Speaking at the event, which started with playing national anthems of Qatar and Kazakhstan, Ambassador of Kazakhstan HE Askar Shokybayev hailed the strong and progressive ties between the two countries, expressing gratitude to the Cultural Village Foundation - Katara for hosting the concert.
