Man arrested for killing uncle in Palsana

Surat: A man killed his uncle when he spat on the former’s food plate during dinner at Palsana near here on Thursday. The accused has been arrested.
Palsana police said the family members are ragpickers from Nandurbar in Maharashtra and live in a tent outside Pada Faliya in Palsana. The murder took place on Thursday when the family assembled for dinner. There was an argument and Sama M Naik spat on his nephew Sunil K Naik’s food plate.Sunil boiled over with anger and picked up a wooden stick lying nearby and hit it on his uncle’s head. Sama was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Friday.
Police sub-inspector SA Prajapati said, “The crime was committed on the spur of the moment. The family members belong to Nandurbar and are ragpickers.”
