Cong workers celebrate Sonia Gandhi’s birthday

Congress activists celebrated All-India Congress Committee (AICC) chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s birthday at Rajeev Bhavan here today. They vowed to work for the overall development of the state. An awareness drive would be started to spread the party’s ideology among the masses, they said.

Activists of the women cell gathered at the party office and congratulated each other. They distributed sweets and prayed for the long life of Sonia Gandhi. The party workers said the condition of women in villages in the higher areas of the state had improved much due to the beneficiary schemes started by the Congress-led state government. The party workers raised slogans in the favour of the party and Sonia Gandhi. They performed yajna during the function. Mahanagar women cell president Kamlesh Raman, Nazma Khan, Pushpa Panwar, Chandrakala Negi and Radha Chauhan were present.
