Foreigner held with charas, opium in Kullu

KULLU: The Kullu police arrested Italian national Antonio Rossini with 109-gm charas, 10-gm opium and 16 LSD papers at Kasol in Manikaran yesterday.

The Kullu police arrested Italian national Antonio Rossini with 109-gm charas, 10-gm opium and 16 LSD papers at Kasol in Manikaran yesterday. Kullu Superintendent of Police Padam Chand said a raid was carried out at the eatery and the accused was arrested after the contraband. A case has been registered and investigations are under way. The SP said the police had seized charas and nabbed many persons in the past one month. He added that the police were probing various aspects to zero down on the mafia.

Two more persons were nabbed with 1,793-gm charas yesterday. The SP said Naresh Kumar from Suma village was arrested with 800-gm charas while Birbal of Tandla village was nabbed with 993-gm charas during a naka at Bajaura. Separate cases under the NDPS Act have been registered. — OC
