Aapna Punjab Party president Sucha Singh Chhotepur today said the Akali Dal’s attempt to create a public opinion in their favour on the issue of riverwaters is not going to get them votes as people can see through these “gimmicks”.

In a statement, Chhotepur condemned the ruling Badals for using public money to organise the Moga rally giving it the name of “government rally”.

“This money could have been utilised for paying off the debt of marginal farmers, hence preventing a few of them from committing suicide. But unfortunately the Badals have no inclination towards saving the agrarian community of the state,” he said.
